There have been some rumors going around the internet today regarding story elements and casting for EPISODE VII. I read them this morning and didn’t post them as right off the bat, they struck me as wishful thinking by an overzealous fan. Now, Drew McWeeney over at Hitfix has a piece debunking the rumors.
First Non-Returning Character Casting News?
I’m a little late with this tidbit, but Latino Review is reporting that actor Jonathon Rhys Meyers is in talks to take on a role in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Rhys Meyers is most well known for appearing in JJ Abrams’ Mission: Impossible III and the Showtime series, The Tudors (side note — he costarred […]
Lucasfilm Announces STAR WARS: REBELS
Well, today, Lucasfilm and Disney finally let the cat out of the bag as to what the new STAR WARS animated series will be. Here’s a video, followed by the press release: Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all […]
New Costume Designer for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII
Michael Kaplan, who did the costumes for Star Trek Into Darkness, Blade Runner, and Fight Club (amongst others) has been brought on board the EPISODE VII production team, according to IGN. “It’s a little too soon to know exactly what’s in store but I’m excited, absolutely, to get to work on another prestigious sci-fi series.” […]
News and Tidbits – 4-30-13

Vulture had previously indicated that Zack Snyder was being sought for a Seven Samurai-inspired solo Star Wars film. Could they be the same thing? Actually, a part of me thinks that […]
Return of the Kasdan (or The Kinberg Strikes Back?)
It was first rumored over at Deadline, and has subsequently been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi scribe Lawrence Kasdan and fellow writer Simon Kinberg have been brought aboard to pen Episode VIII and Episode IX in addition to producing, presumably, the entire Sequel Trilogy. Right […]
UPDATED: Your STAR WARS: EPISODE VII Screenwriter (most likely) is…
… Academy Award-winning screenwriter Michael Arndt, if these articles by Vulture, Deadline, and The Hollywood Reporter are to be believed. I can’t fully speak to the quality of Mr. Arndt’s screenwriting capabilities, having not seen Little Miss Sunshine (which won him the Oscar), but I dug Toy Story 3, which is generally accepted as one […]
“Star Wars: Episode VII” is Happening!
In my “real life,” I work third shift, which means I typically sleep from about noon until 8pm every day. So, seeing as how October 30th was just a normal day, I followed my usual routine, never thinking in a hundred years that I would wake up to a dozen different messages on my Facebook […]
