Imagine going on a magic carpet ride with Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi – or fighting Stormtroopers alongside Mulan. The Star Wars Musical leads you on a trip down memory lane by taking the best of Disney’s classic hits and Star Wars’ legacy combined into a parody of Episode IV: A New Hope, the original film in the Star Wars saga. Created by a team of fervent Star Wars and Disney-loving fans and professional talents, Star Wars Musical couples the realm of Star Wars with a magical wonderland of Disney that utilizes elements of animation and live action.

Star Wars Musical achieved viral success with over 250,000 views and restless excitement for the following sequel. With solidifying plans for Star Wars Musical’s take on Episode V: Empire Strikes Back just around the corner, executive director and composer George Shaw is seeking bigger aspirations for his musical project. The team is aiming to release their adaptation, entitled “Star Wars Musical: The Empire’s New Groove” by December 2016, but this goal will be difficult to achieve without the support of devoted Star Wars and Disney fans like you! Through this campaign, the team hopes to bring their passion project to a whole new level in terms of quality and production and present it to fans who share the same affection for their geekdoms worldwide.

About the Creators
Composer George Shaw recently co-wrote “Ode to Geeks” with Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee and produced a music video featuring a chorus of geek voices assembled across the internet. He also composes for Geek & Sundry’s Tabletop show hosted by Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), music directs the Geekie Awards in his 3rd year, and created the viral hit Star Wars Musical out of his passion for Star Wars and Disney. He followed it up with Netflix Musical,which stars Harry Shum Jr. (Glee) and Chrissa Sparkles. YouTube videos featuring George’s music have amassed over 150 million views.
Director Jeffrey Gee Chin has been featured on Good Morning America and at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea for his film work. In 2012, he completed his first narrative short filmLil Tokyo Reporter, which starred Academy Award-Winner Chris Tashima as Civil Rights Leader Sei Fujii. The film won over 20 awards and was finished at Sony Pictures Studios. As a USC graduate student, Chin VFX supervised a Student Academy Award Finalist Drone and completed a feature adaptation of James Franco’s Actor’s Anonymous as a 2nd-Unit Director and Visual Effects Supervisor. Chin also recently edited an Emmy nominated show for San Francisco Government Television.
