Japan has been confirmed as the chosen location for Star Wars Celebration when it next returns in 2025.

Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 concluded yesterday, following four days of celebrity guests, surprise announcements and mountains of exclusive merchandise. More than 32,000 people descended on the ExCel London location from all over the world, with the highly-anticipated fan gathering taking place from April 7-10.

With this year’s event now finished, the show will take a sabbatical in 2024, skipping its usual annual schedule. However, an official announcement has confirmed that Star Wars Celebration will be back in 2025 for three-days of galactic entertainment from April 18-20. In addition, the event will be taking place in Japan, which may prove something of a logistical issue for those travelling to the show and even those watching from home.

Star Wars Celebration was last held in Japan in back in 2008 from July 19-21 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, the same location that will be hosting the 2025 show. This was the first time that Star Wars Celebration had taken place in Asia, so fans in that particular part of the world will no doubt be overjoyed that the event will be taking place in their region once more.

The next big screen Star Wars movie has been confirmed for release on December 19, 2025, so it’s a safe bet that there will be plenty of announcements and details about the film at Star Wars Celebration Japan.
