Unlike past Star Wars Celebration events, 2023’s annual convention for Star Wars fans will not be streamed.
As reported by Making Star Wars, a customer service representative for the Star Wars Celebration replied to a question about whether or not it will be available to watch for those not in attendance with the following statement via email:
“Upon checking, online streaming of Star Wars Celebration Europe is not available in Youtube or any platform this year.”
This means that the only way to experience the annual event will be to attend in person, which is naturally disappointing for those fans who can’t be there. While it’s understandable to want to keep some experiences and clips just for those there, normally some element of the Celebration is made public.
That’s not to say those not there in person won’t know anything about what’s going on. Attendees will likely be sharing what’s going on through social media or blog posts, whether that’s at the time of the event or later on, depending on guidelines and restrictions from the organisers.
It’s expected that there will be an announcement related to the next Star Wars film at 2023’s Celebration, so news like this will undoubtedly circulate into general news pretty soon after the event itself.
