Fans of Cal Kestis will be able to read all about the former Padawan’s continuing adventures in the upcoming novel, Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars.
The highly-anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is scheduled for release on March 17, 2023, with the sequel to Fallen Order available to purchase on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. The upcoming video game will continue the ongoing story of Cal Kestis and his droid buddy, BD-1, as they attempt to survive in a galaxy under constant threat from the emerging Empire.
Ahead of the Electronic Arts game’s launch will be Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, an official in-canon novel from author Sam Maggs that’s due to be published by Random House on March 7, 2023. Set between the events of the two video games, the forthcoming book features cover art by Anthrox Studio that showcases Cal, Merrin, Cere and Greez, with the Fifth Brother Inquisitor looming over them. Here’s the official synopsis for Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars:
‘Cal Kestis has built a new life for himself with the crew of the Stinger Mantis. Together, Cal’s crew has brought down bounty hunters, defeated Inquisitors, and even evaded Darth Vader himself. More importantly, Merrin, Cere, Greez, and faithful droid BD-1 are the closest thing Cal has had to a family since the fall of the Jedi Order. Even as the galaxy’s future grows more uncertain by the day, with each blow struck against the Empire, the Mantis crew grows more daring.
On what should be a routine mission, they meet a stormtrooper determined to chart her own course with the help of Cal and the crew. In exchange for help starting a new life, the Imperial deserter brings word of a powerful, potentially invaluable tool for their fight against the Empire. And even better, she can help them get to it. The only catch — pursuing it will bring them into the path of one of the Empire’s most dangerous servants, the Inquisitor known as the Fifth Brother.
Can the Imperial deserter truly be trusted? And while Cal and his friends have survived run-ins with the Inquisitors before, how many times can they evade the Empire before their luck runs out?’
Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars will be available from all good book stores on March 7, 2023, alongside Ebook and Audio versions of the novel. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor can currently be pre-ordered on PlayStation 5 from Hit, with the retailer having reduced the game by 22% to £54.85.
