Count Dooku was born into a noble family on the planet Serenno. He was trained as a Jedi under the tutelage of Yoda, but later left the Jedi Order to pursue his own agenda. Dooku believed that the Jedi had lost their way and that the galaxy needed a strong leader to restore order. He was seduced by the power of the dark side and became a Sith Lord, taking on the name Darth Tyranus.

Count Dooku in the Star Wars Prequels
In Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Count Dooku is introduced as a charismatic leader of the Separatist movement.
