Star Wars Jedi games could become a trilogy

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor director Stig Asmussen wants to make Cal Kestis’s story a trilogy.

Speaking to IGN Unfiltered in a recent interview, Asmusssen suggested that a third Star Wars: Jedi game could be on its way from Respawn Entertainment, presumably dependent on whether Star Wars Jedi: Survivor performs well in its upcoming release. However, sequel discussions were reportedly happening as early as 2019.

“We were already talking about the second game,” explained Asmussen. “I mean, frankly, we were talking beyond. And these are conversations that, when we’re breaking this story with Lucasfilm, it’s like: ‘Well, where are we going with the second game?’

“I always wanted to see this as a trilogy,” the director added. “How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game?

“We had a pretty decent idea of [the] timeframe [when] we wanted Survivor to take place, what the stakes were going to be, what the tone of the game was going to be, what Cal was going to be up against, and how the crew was going to factor into that. And there’s ideas of what we could do beyond that as well.”

Fans of the game have more reason than ever, then, to buy and review Star Wars Jedi: Survivor highly (if it’s deserving). From what we’ve seen of the game so far, the graphics and functionality of the game seem promising.

We’ll all be able to make up our own minds more fully on April 28, when the second game in the possible trilogy will be released.
