The Mandalorian star Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kyrze, compares Din Djarin to Satine Kryze.
In an interview with Deadline, Sackhoff was asked about why Bo-Katan isn’t trying to get the Darksaber off Din Djarin. The actor explained that the Mandalorian is done fighting those who haven’t done anything to her.
“It’s easier to fight an enemy for something than it is to fight somebody you actually have respect for or has done nothing to upset you,” Sackhoff explained. “That’s where she’s at.”
From there, Sackhoff also alluded to a connection between Djarin and Satine, Bo-Katan’s sister. Bo-Katan once rebelled and fought her own sister, believing she needed to liberate her people from her sister’s rule.
We have to go back to the responsibility and the guilt that she feels for the death of Satine,” noted Sackhoff. “That is weighing on her as well. There is a part of Bo in a way trying to right the wrong, atone for that guilt.”
Now abandoned by her people, Bo-Katan needs to be able to live with herself and is presumably grappling with her past mistakes. It makes sense that she would see something of her past in Din Djarin, someone who she respects but who she also disagrees with from an ideological standpoint – just like Satine.
