Plot

The movie takes place one year after the events of Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi. The First Order, led by Kylo Ren, has gained control of the galaxy and is hunting down the remnants of the Resistance. Meanwhile, Rey continues her Jedi training under General Leia Organa and seeks to uncover the truth about her past.

Rey, Finn, Poe, and Chewbacca embark on a mission to recover a Sith wayfinder that will lead them to the hidden planet of Exegol, where the resurrected Emperor Palpatine is hiding. Kylo Ren also seeks the wayfinder in order to destroy Palpatine and become the new ruler of the galaxy.

The Resistance launches a final assault on the First Order and its massive fleet of Star Destroyers, with the help of Lando Calrissian and a fleet of allies from across the galaxy. Meanwhile, Rey confronts Palpatine, who reveals that she is his granddaughter and offers her a chance to rule the galaxy at his side.
