After early reviews compared Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to Star Wars, Paul Rudd was quick to compliment the galaxy far, far away.
As the first reviews for the Marvel film roll in, critics like Kristian Harloff, the host of The Big Thing on YouTube, said the film “[blends] Star Wars, The Fifth Element, Dune, and Strange World”.
So #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania goes hard in the paint as the big epic Sci Fi film. Blending Star Wars, Fifth Element, Dune + Strange World. I don't think its going to work for everyone but I really dug this tone. Its a bit chaotic towards the end but wraps up nicely. Kang rules.

Speaking to Insider, Paul Rudd, the star of the Ant-Man movies, said he saw the merit of some of the connections that reviewers are making.
“I can understand some of those Star Wars comparisons,” Rudd said. “Star Wars is one of the biggest, most important movies of all time. So, it’s nice to be even mentioned in the same sentence, but I would never go so far.”
What’s more, Rudd said that he could also see some similarities of his own, stemming from his time on set while shooting the film.
“It’s such a powerful villain, I could understand the comparisons to the evil empire kind of thing,” he added. “And there are creatures and it almost looked like the cantina scene in ‘Star Wars’ and good and evil and all of that.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is out in cinemas on February 17, so we’ll have to wait until then to see if the comparisons stack up.
