Star Wars legend Mark Hamill has lent his voice to air raid alerts in Ukraine, warning people to get to safety – with a Skywalker twist.

The alert is transmitted via the Air Alert app, co-developed by Ukrainian security systems manufacturer Ajax Systems, reports the BBC. More than 14 million people have already downloaded the app in order to be alerted to ongoing air raids in the war-torn country, coupled with sirens across many Ukrainian cities and towns.

Russia recently renewed air raids on Ukraine at the beginning of March, targeting energy infrastructure and residential areas alike in the capital Kyiv, the second biggest city of Kharkiv, the Black Sea port of Odesa, and the northern city of Chernihiv , as well as the cities of Dnipro, Lutsk and Rivne, reports Sky News.

“Attention. Air raid alert. Proceed to the nearest shelter,” Hamill says. “Don’t be careless. Your overconfidence is your weakness.”

When the danger has passed, Hamill signs off with: “The alert is over. May the Force be with you.

This comes after the actor also pledged to sell signed Star Wars memorabilia, something he doesn’t often do, to raise money for relief and aid efforts in Ukraine.

“A fairy tale about good versus evil is resonant with what’s going on in Ukraine,” Hamill told The Associated Press. “The Ukrainian people rallying to the cause and responding so heroically… It’s impossible not to be inspired by how they’ve weathered this storm.”
