Endor is a fictional forest moon in the Star Wars universe and is the location of the Battle of Endor in the sixth Star Wars film, Return of the Jedi. The filming location for Endor was actually in Northern California’s Redwood National Park.

Redwood National Park is located in Humboldt County and Del Norte County, California. It was established in 1968 and covers an area of 138,999 acres. The park features beautiful tall redwoods, which are some of the tallest trees in the world. The park is home to many hiking trails, camping grounds, and wildlife, including black bears, elk, and sea lions.

Filming in Redwood National Park
Filming for the Endor scenes in Return of the Jedi took place in the Redwood National Park, specifically at the south end of the Avenue of the Giants. Scenes of the speeder bikes, the Ewok village, and the climactic battle with the Death Star took place in the park. The park was an ideal filming location due to its beautiful redwoods, which gave the forest moon of Endor an otherworldly feel.
