In the Star Wars universe, the X-wing starfighters are primarily used by the Rebel Alliance and the Resistance. These fighters are renowned for their speed, maneuverability, and firepower, making them an integral part of the battle against the forces of tyranny.

The Rebel Alliance

The Rebel Alliance first used the X-wing fighters during the Galactic Civil War, a conflict prominently depicted in the original Star Wars trilogy. These spacecraft became symbols of the Rebel Alliance’s struggle against the Galactic Empire.

One of the most iconic moments involving an X-wing occurs in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977), when Luke Skywalker flies one during the pivotal Battle of Yavin. Using the Force, Luke is able to fire a shot into the Death Star’s exhaust port, leading to the destruction of the massive space station.

The Resistance

In the sequel trilogy, the Resistance, following in the footsteps of the Rebel Alliance, also uses X-wing fighters. These new models, known as T-70 and T-85, maintain the classic design but incorporate updated technology and capabilities.

Poe Dameron, one of the key characters in the sequel trilogy, is often seen piloting a customized black and orange T-70 X-wing, demonstrating his exceptional skill as a pilot.
