Despite not airing yet, The Mandalorian just set a new record with its trailer for the third season of the show.

The latest trailer made its debut during the NFL wildcard playoff game on January 16, showcasing where everyone’s favourite adopted father/child duo will go next. Din Djarin and Grogu are reunited and there’s plenty to unpack even in the brief glimpses of the third season that we got.

It’s therefore no surprise that the trailer for the third season of the live-action show attracted a record-breaking 83.5 million views in its first 24 hours. This is the best result for any of the Star Wars Disney+ series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trailer debuted online after it appeared on the TV broadcast, pulling in millions of views. For comparison, the trailer for Kenobi attracted just 58 million views.

“The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together,” reads the description of the show. It will see Pedro Pascal return as Din Djarin, now kitted out with his darksaber and a need to restore his Mandalorian honour, alongside other returning cast members, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere on March 1 on Disney+.
